Dr Daniel Chen is a cardiologist at the Prince of Wales & St George Hospitals in Sydney, Australia and a senior lecturer and researcher through the Hatter Cardiovascular Institute at University College London (UCL). He is a specialist in cardio-oncology and cross-sectional cardiac imaging. His research interests include immunotherapy induced cardiotoxicities, cardiovascular outcomes in breast cancer, and cancer survivorship.

He completed cardiology training at the Prince of Wales and St George Hospitals in Sydney before undertaking a cardio-oncology and cardiac imaging fellowship with the Barts Heart Centre in London, UK. He was appointed as a consultant cardiologist in 2021 to the University College of London Hospital and Barts Heart Centre as a cardio-oncologist, and as an honorary associate professor at the University College of London. He has most recently been appointed as a consultant cardiologist at the Prince of Wales & St George Hospitals in Sydney to establish and lead the cardio-oncology services. He holds board certification and is a member of the International Cardio-Oncology Society (ICOS) and is a Level III Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging specialist with the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI).

His current research focuses on the cardiovascular outcomes associated with chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy in patients with relapsed and refractory B-cell blood cancers, the utility of advanced cardiac imaging and serum biomarkers for early diagnosis of cardiotoxicity in these patients.
